In a strong push to tighten accountability in the cooperative sector, a district-level quarterly review meeting on embezzlement and fraud cases in cooperative bank branches and societies was held under the chairpersonship of Collector and Administrator of Narsinghpur District Cooperative Bank, Rajni Singh.
During the meeting, the Collector issued firm directions to ensure the early recovery of embezzled funds. Officials were instructed to identify both movable and immovable assets of those involved and initiate recovery proceedings without delay.
Reviewing pending cases, she emphasised the need to strengthen the legal position of cooperative societies in court to ensure their speedy disposal. She also directed that all cases where FIRs have not yet been registered must be filed at the earliest.
The meeting was attended by Additional Superintendent of Police Sandeep Bhuria, Deputy Commissioner Cooperation Dinesh Chaurasiya, General Manager Digvijay Singh Patel, along with other officials and cooperative representatives, reflecting a coordinated approach to curb financial irregularities.
