The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Siddharth Jain, IAS (AP:2001), as Additional Secretary in the Union Ministry of Cooperation.
Jain, who is currently serving as Joint Secretary in the ministry, has recently been empaneled for appointment as Additional Secretary at the Centre. His elevation follows this empanelment, marking a significant step in his administrative career.
The appointment was cleared by the ACC on Tuesday under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.
It may be recalled that Jain is also serving as Administrator of the apex cooperative body, the National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI).
A senior civil servant with extensive administrative experience, Jain has served as District Collector in Khammam, West Godavari and Chittoor. He has also held several key positions, including Commissioner of Industries, Director of Ports, Commissioner (Registration and Stamps), and Commissioner of Civil Supplies.
