Uttarakhand Delegation explores Sikkim’s Co-op Model

A delegation from Uttarakhand’s Cooperation Department met the Cooperation Minister of Sikkim during an official exposure visit, aiming to strengthen inter-state collaboration in the cooperative sector. Led by the department’s Secretary, the team discussed best practices, institutional frameworks, and strategies to enhance cooperative movements.

The delegation shared insights from visits to key institutions, including Temi Tea Employees Welfare Cooperative Society, SIMFED, and SISCO Bank, highlighting Sikkim’s grassroots initiatives.

The Minister emphasised transparency, modernization, and community participation as pillars of Sikkim’s cooperative success. Both sides stressed mutual learning and agreed on enhancing collaboration through knowledge exchange, exposure visits, and sharing administrative practices.

Senior officials from Sikkim’s Cooperation Department, including the Registrar, were also present during the discussions.
