Voting for the election of the Board of Directors of the Akola-Washim District Central Co-operative Bank was conducted peacefully on Sunday across the district. The polling process took place at 13 designated centres under tight security and administrative supervision.
According to official figures, out of a total of 1,134 eligible voters, as many as 1,115 exercised their franchise, resulting in an impressive voter turnout of 98.32 percent.
Polling began in the morning and continued smoothly throughout the day without any reported disruptions. Election officials ensured proper arrangements, including security deployment, voter verification, and strict adherence to guidelines, to facilitate a hassle-free voting experience for all participants.
The election is considered significant for the cooperative banking sector in the region, as the newly elected board will play a crucial role in shaping policies and strengthening the bank’s operations in the coming years.
