Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said the Memorandum of Understanding between the Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Milk Federation (HPMilkfed) and the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) is an important step towards strengthening the dairy sector in the state.

Addressing a function in Shimla, he said the partnership will improve milk procurement, processing, and marketing systems, helping farmers and livestock rearers get better returns and increase their income.

The Chief Minister noted that the state government is implementing several initiatives to boost the rural economy and improve farmers’ livelihoods, including support prices for cow and buffalo milk, dairy incentive schemes, subsidies on milk transportation, and assistance under the Gopal Yojana.

He also thanked NDDB for bringing innovation and new initiatives to the state and assured full support from the government to further strengthen the dairy sector.
