A large farmers’ conference organised by Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) in Morena brought together farmers, cooperative leaders and policymakers to discuss agricultural development, farmer welfare and the growing role of cooperatives in strengthening rural livelihoods.

The event, which also included a free eye examination and cataract surgery camp for farmers and rural residents, reflected the cooperative sector’s emphasis on both agricultural support and community welfare. The programme was attended by Dileep Sanghani as the chief guest and was presided over by Narendra Singh Tomar.

Addressing the gathering, Sanghani said the cooperative movement has received renewed momentum under the vision of Narendra Modi, particularly through the guiding principle of “Sahkar se Samriddhi” (prosperity through cooperation). He noted that the formation of the Ministry of Cooperation has further strengthened the cooperative ecosystem across the country.

Sanghani also highlighted the initiatives undertaken under the leadership of Amit Shah, including the creation of new national-level cooperative societies focused on seeds, organic farming and exports. According to him, these initiatives are aimed at strengthening the cooperative structure and improving market access and opportunities for farmers.

Speaking to farmers at the conference, Sanghani said that Indian agriculture is currently undergoing a positive transformation, with innovation and technology playing a key role. He highlighted IFFCO’s development of nano fertilisers as a major step in improving agricultural productivity while reducing environmental impact.

He pointed out that nano fertilisers developed by IFFCO have significantly enhanced efficiency in nutrient usage and have helped farmers reduce input costs. He also noted that nano urea produced by IFFCO is now being exported to nearly 40 countries around the world, which he described as a matter of pride for India’s cooperative sector.

Apart from discussions on agricultural technology and cooperative values, the programme also emphasised the importance of farmers’ health and well-being. The free eye testing and cataract surgery camp organised alongside the conference aimed to provide essential eye care services to farmers and rural residents.

Speakers at the event observed that healthy farmers are crucial for a productive agricultural sector. Initiatives such as medical camps not only improve the quality of life for rural communities but also demonstrate the cooperative sector’s commitment to social responsibility.

During the conference, leaders interacted with farmers and discussed modern agricultural practices, cooperative principles and ways to strengthen rural prosperity. Participants said the event helped create awareness about new agricultural technologies and government initiatives while reinforcing the importance of collective action through cooperatives.

The programme was also broadcast live on IFFCO’s digital platforms, allowing members of the cooperative sector and farmers from across the country to follow the discussions and deliberations.
