A review meeting of the Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Department was held on Monday, under the chairmanship of Ashish Kumar Bhutani, Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, to assess ongoing initiatives and discuss measures to further strengthen the cooperative sector in the state.
The meeting focused on evaluating key programmes, implementation progress, and strategies aimed at enhancing the efficiency and outreach of cooperative institutions across Uttar Pradesh. Discussions also covered ways to improve governance, financial performance, and service delivery within the cooperative framework.
Senior officials of the state’s Cooperative Department participated in the meeting, including Principal Secretary (Cooperation) A. K. Shukla; Commissioner and Registrar (Cooperatives) Yogesh Kumar; Additional Commissioner and Additional Registrar (Banking) Anil Kumar Singh; and Additional Commissioner, Additional Registrar (Sahkar Se Samriddhi) Shrikant Goswami, Rajesh Kumar Kulshrestha, MD, UP State Co-op Bank and others.
Officials reviewed progress on cooperative development programmes and discussed steps to improve coordination between the central and state governments to accelerate growth and ensure greater benefits for farmers, rural communities, and cooperative members across the state.
