Managing Director of the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO), K J Patel, has expressed heartfelt gratitude to Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah for inaugurating the Sulphuric Acid Unit-3 at IFFCO’s Paradeep plant in Odisha.
In a post on social media platform X, Patel shared a video of Shah’s speech delivered during the inauguration ceremony and thanked him for taking time out of his busy schedule to attend the event and dedicate the new facility to the nation.
In his message, Patel said the presence of the Union Minister at the plant was a moment of pride and inspiration for the entire IFFCO family. He noted that nearly 5,000 employees and their families associated with the Paradeep complex felt honoured by Shah’s visit, which gave them an opportunity to showcase their work and contributions to the cooperative sector.
Patel also highlighted that Shah appreciated IFFCO’s role in strengthening the cooperative movement and contributing to national development. According to the IFFCO MD, the Minister’s words of encouragement about the cooperative sector’s contribution to the vision of self-reliant India and a developed India were deeply motivating for the organisation’s workforce.
“The entire IFFCO family expresses deep respect and gratitude. Your encouraging words and gracious presence will remain a source of inspiration for all of us,” Patel said in the post while thanking the Minister on behalf of the cooperative’s employees.
The inauguration of Sulphuric Acid Unit-3 at the Paradeep complex marks a significant addition to IFFCO’s fertiliser production infrastructure. The Paradeep facility in Odisha is one of the largest fertiliser complexes in the country and plays a crucial role in the production of phosphatic fertilisers that support Indian agriculture.
The event witnessed the presence of several senior leaders and officials from the cooperative sector. IFFCO Chairman Dileep Sanghani and other top functionaries of the organisation were present during the inauguration programme.
During his address, Shah lauded the contribution of cooperatives in strengthening India’s agricultural economy and emphasised the importance of modernising fertiliser production to support farmers and national food security. He also highlighted how institutions like IFFCO have played a key role in advancing the cooperative movement in the country.
IFFCO officials described the inauguration as a landmark moment for the Paradeep plant and said the new unit would help enhance the complex’s operational efficiency and support the cooperative’s mission of strengthening agricultural productivity.
The event concluded with expressions of gratitude from IFFCO leadership and a renewed commitment to continue working towards nation-building through the cooperative model.
