While inaugurating IFFCO’s Sulphuric Acid Plant-III at Paradip in Odisha, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah said the success of the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited reflects the strength of India’s cooperative movement, noting that the organisation ultimately belongs to millions of farmers across the country.

Addressing the gathering, Shah said whatever IFFCO earns ultimately benefits nearly five crore farmers, which he described as the cooperative’s greatest strength. He emphasised that irrespective of where IFFCO’s manufacturing units are located, their real owners are the farmers of India.

Highlighting the scale of the cooperative, Shah said IFFCO has achieved a turnover of more than Rs 41,000 crore, a profit exceeding Rs 3,800 crore and a net worth of over Rs 28,000 crore.

He said these achievements belong to the five crore farmer-members associated with the cooperative, describing IFFCO as a “true miracle of the cooperative model” that demonstrates how collective ownership can generate large economic value for farmers.
