The Maharashtra Government has expanded its high-level committee formed to suggest changes in the State’s Cooperative Policy in line with the National Cooperative Policy 2025.

The committee, headed by the State Cooperation Minister, is working to recommend reforms to strengthen and modernize the cooperative sector across Maharashtra. As part of the latest development, two new members have been added to the panel.

Subhash Vitthal Mohite, former Chairman of Pune Peoples Co-operative Bank, Pune, has been appointed as a member of the committee. Along with him, Arvind Janardhan Gore, Chairman of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Cooperative Sugar Factory, Dharashiv, has also been included.

The inclusion of experienced leaders from the cooperative banking and sugar sectors is expected to provide practical insights and guidance in shaping the new policy framework. The committee will focus on measures to improve transparency, efficiency, and growth of cooperative institutions throughout the state.

The appointments have been officially notified by the Maharashtra Government through a formal government order.
