The Karnataka State Souharda Federal Cooperative Ltd. (KSSFCL), Bidar District Office, organised a “Business Development Training” programme for loss-making Souharda cooperatives of the district at Kalyana Pattina Souharda Sahakari, Samarthya Training Hall, Bidar.

The programme was inaugurated by Gurunath Jyantikar, Director, KSSFCL, who stressed that profitability in cooperatives depends on reducing wasteful expenditure, ensuring transparency and focusing consistently on day-to-day business operations. He cautioned office-bearers against administrative lapses and emphasised that strong, quality-driven cooperatives are vital stepping stones for building a robust national economy.

The event was presided over by Nagashetty Patil, Director, Bidar Jilla Souharda Sahakarigala Okkuta.

A total of 58 representatives from 32 Souharda cooperatives participated. Resource person Shashidhar Yele, Retired Additional Registrar of Cooperative Societies, spoke on strategies to revive loss-making institutions through improved income streams, efficient resource use, business expansion and technology adoption. Trainer Dr. Prithviraj Lucky highlighted the importance of fostering a motivational work environment within cooperatives.
