Delhi Cooperation Minister Ravinder Indraj Singh on Tuesday held an extensive interaction with representatives of Thrift and Credit Cooperative Societies at the Delhi Secretariat, focusing on the challenges, opportunities, and future roadmap of the cooperative sector.
During the dialogue, wide-ranging discussions were held on strengthening transparency, building robust financial structures, and ensuring the protection of members’ interests. The Minister emphasized that cooperatives play a crucial role in inclusive economic development and can serve as a powerful instrument for public empowerment when managed with accountability and trust.
Reiterating the government’s commitment, Singh said the objective is to make cooperatives a reliable platform for providing financial security and promoting self-reliance across all sections of society.
He highlighted the need for modern governance practices, regulatory compliance, and capacity building to enhance the credibility and sustainability of cooperative institutions.
The interaction reflected the Delhi Government’s focused approach toward revitalising the cooperative movement and expanding its reach, enabling cooperatives to contribute meaningfully to socio-economic growth and financial inclusion in the national capital.
