‘Bharat Taxi’ has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC) on Friday, in the presence of Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister stated that the initiative aims to provide safe, reliable and transparent taxi services while empowering drivers through a cooperative ownership model. Under this framework, taxi drivers will be able to retain a larger share of their earnings, contributing to improved income security and sustainable livelihoods.

The programme also places strong emphasis on capacity building. Taxi drivers will receive training in soft skills as well as Delhi’s culture, history and heritage, enabling them to act as brand ambassadors for Delhi tourism and enhance the overall visitor experience.

Cabinet Minister Kapil Mishra and senior officials from the concerned departments were present at the MoU signing ceremony. The initiative reflects the Delhi government’s commitment to inclusive growth, driver welfare and cooperative-led development.
