A meeting of the District Cooperative Development Committee (DCDC) was held at the Vikas Bhawan in Deoria (Uttar Pradesh) under the chairmanship of Siddharth Jain, IAS, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India, who is also Administrator, NCUI.
The meeting focused on reviewing progress and strengthening the cooperative sector at the district level.
Detailed discussions were held on key issues related to cooperative development, including the functioning of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), credit delivery mechanisms, financial inclusion and capacity building of cooperative institutions.
Ongoing schemes and initiatives of the Ministry of Cooperation aimed at revitalising cooperatives and enhancing their role in rural development were also reviewed. Officials shared updates on implementation status, challenges and future action plans.
Separately, Siddharth Jain chaired another meeting at the Gandhi Sabhagar, Vikas Bhawan, in his capacity as Observer. The meeting saw participation of representatives of political parties and Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), during which important issues related to the process were discussed.
