A significant step towards strengthening Mizoram’s dairy sector was taken on Thrusday with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Mizoram Milk Producers Cooperative Union Limited (MULCO) and the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB).

The ceremony took place at the Chief Minister’s Conference Hall in the presence of Chief Minister Lalduhoma and Cooperation Minister P.C. Vanlalruata.

The MoU aims to enhance milk production, improve dairy processing, and create sustainable livelihoods for livestock farmers in the state. NDDB Chairman Dr. Meenesh Shah outlined the development plans and strategies to help Mizoram harness its livestock potential through modern technology and best practices.

Chief Minister Lalduhoma emphasized that the agreement would boost income opportunities for farmers and called for a Project Monitoring Unit to ensure effective implementation. Cooperation Minister P.C. Vanlalruata expressed confidence that NDDB’s collaboration would strengthen the cooperative movement in Mizoram.

The MoU was signed by Udit Rai Prakash, IAS (Mizoram Government), S. Rajeev, Executive Director, NDDB, and Lalhmunliani, Managing Director, MULCO.
