Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Wednesday felicitated the Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Bank Limited (HPSCB) for securing national first rank in the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY).
Congratulating the Bank on its outstanding achievement, the Chief Minister said the recognition reflects Himachal Pradesh’s strong institutional framework for supporting farmers and the effective implementation of central welfare schemes at the grassroots level.
HPSCB emerged as the top-performing bank among Medium Category States for Kharif 2024 and Rabi 2024–25. The honour was conferred by the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India, during the 13th National Review Conference.
The Chief Minister appreciated the Bank’s significant role in expanding crop insurance coverage and ensuring timely settlement of claims, thereby strengthening risk protection for farmers across the state. Bank Chairman Devender Shyam and Managing Director Shrawan Manta were present during the felicitation ceremony.
