The National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI), in collaboration with the Cooperation Department, Government of Mizoram, has successfully kickstarted a series of capacity-building programmes for cooperatives and stakeholders across the state. The programmes are scheduled from 19th to 23rd January 2026.
The first programme was held at Aizawl on 19th January 2026 and witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 90 representatives of various cooperative societies from the districts of Aizawl, Kolasib, and Mamit.
The programme featured engaging and insightful sessions led by Ved Prakash Setia, Executive Director, NCUI, who elaborated on the cooperative movement, initiatives of the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India, the National Cooperative Policy, NCUI’s activities and initiatives, and the establishment of Multipurpose Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS).
Anant Dubey, Deputy Director, NCUI, delivered a focused session on strengthening PACS through good governance and economic viability, highlighting the convergence of various government schemes such as PACS as Common Service Centres (CSC), Jan Aushadhi Kendras, Kisan Credit Card (KCC), Paani Samiti, and other allied initiatives.
The programme was graced by K. Lalduhawma, Joint Registrar of Cooperative Societies (RCS), and Shri Dawnga, Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies (ARCS), whose presence further encouraged active participation and interaction among the stakeholders.
