The Kaira District Cooperative Milk Producers Union Ltd, popularly known as Amul Dairy, has recorded a turnover of Rs 14,099 crore, registering a growth of over nine percent compared to the previous year, media reports say.
The performance was highlighted during the annual general meeting of the union held in Anand. The cooperative currently procures more than 48 lakh kilograms of milk per day from over seven lakh milk producers across Gujarat.
Payments to farmers improved during the year, with higher returns per kilogram of fat, strengthening rural incomes. The union also disbursed insurance benefits to member families and expanded animal health and veterinary services.
