In a significant step towards realizing the vision of “Sahkar Se Samriddhi”, Tripura State Cooperative Marketing Federation (Tripura Markfed) and the National Cooperative Exports Limited (NCEL) have signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Agartala to strengthen cooperative-led agricultural exports from the state.

The MoU establishes a long-term strategic partnership aimed at empowering cooperative societies and enhancing their participation in national and international markets.

Under the collaboration, export-oriented agricultural commodities from Tripura will be identified, while NCEL will facilitate procurement, marketing, and access to global market linkages. The partnership also focuses on developing sustainable value chains and joint participation in domestic and international trade fairs to promote Tripura’s agricultural produce.

A key thrust of the agreement will be the promotion of Tripura’s aromatic rice, known for its distinctive quality and growing demand in niche global markets. The initiative is expected to expand market opportunities for farmers, strengthen cooperative institutions, and contribute to the goals of Atmanirbhar Bharat through export-led growth.
