The 283rd Board Meeting of the Gujarat Urban Banks Federation was held on Monday under the chairmanship of Jyotindrabhai Mehta, Chairman of the Federation.
The meeting witnessed a detailed discussion on the recent regulatory norms relating to the “Eligibility Criteria for Branch Authorisation”, with members deliberating on their implications for urban cooperative banks in the state.
The discussions focused on gaining clarity on the revised framework and assessing its impact on branch expansion plans, compliance requirements, and the overall operational preparedness of member banks.
During the meeting, a PowerPoint presentation was made on the various services offered by the National Urban Cooperative Finance and Development Corporation (NUCFDC), a national-level umbrella organisation for the urban cooperative banking sector.
Board members actively participated in the deliberations. Presiding over the meeting, Jyotindrabhai Mehta emphasised the importance of member banks remaining aligned with evolving regulatory norms to ensure sustainable growth and regulatory compliance.
