Employees of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) staged a strong protest at the district headquarters of the Hisar Central Cooperative Bank on Monday, raising concerns over long-pending service-related demands. Employees from PACS across the district participated in the demonstration, expressing dissatisfaction with the government and cooperative department authorities.

Leading the protest, PACS representative Anil Poonia stated that managers, salesmen, clerks, watchmen, support staff, and DC-rate employees raised slogans demanding the early resolution of their grievances.

He said issues such as pay-scale anomalies, promotion policies in cooperative banks, gratuity limits, and comprehensive medical facilities for employees’ families have remained unresolved for years.

The protesters also questioned the effectiveness of the recently announced interest waiver scheme, calling it inadequate. The employees warned that if a scheduled meeting with the government in Chandigarh fails to yield concrete outcomes, they would intensify their agitation.

PACS employees announced a statewide pen-down strike from December 29 to 31, with further protest actions under consideration.
