The Union Home and Cooperation Minister, in a written reply to the Lok Sabha, highlighted the strengthening of PACS and cooperative societies in Jhansi under centrally sponsored schemes.
Under the PACS Computerization Project, Uttar Pradesh has received Rs 67.10 crore over FY 2022–23 to 2025–26, supporting ERP deployment, hardware procurement, training, and society-level support systems.
The Minister noted that 55 societies have joined the Indian Seed Cooperative Ltd., with four PACS proposing seed production units to boost financial strength and employment.
At the national level, five societies have joined NCDC and four have joined NCOL, promoting organic farming initiatives. Membership drives in 2023 and 2025 have added 1.74 lakh farmers as PACS members, who have received loans totaling Rs 13,830.06 lakh.
Jhansi PACS are also expanding services, with eight applying for PM Veterinary Centres and all providing CSC services to enhance farmer access and society income. 13 PACS have signed MoUs with 13 FPOs, strengthening cooperative linkages.
Crop loans and fertilizer distribution have further benefited farmers: in 2024–25, 18,226 farmers received loans of Rs 13,819.57 lakh, alongside timely supplies of urea, DAP, and NPK. Financial inclusion has improved, with 2.23 lakh farmers holding accounts in cooperative banks, enhancing credit access and livelihoods.
