Elections to the Board of Directors of the Central Arecanut and Cocoa Marketing and Processing Cooperative (CAMPCO) are underway, with polling scheduled for November 23, 2025, at Sharada Vidyalaya, Kodialbail. Of the 19 board seats, 13 candidates have already been elected unopposed, all from the Sahakari Bharathi-backed panel.
A competitive contest is now unfolding for the remaining six seats, for which eight candidates are in the fray. Six of them are contesting under the Sahakari Bharathi banner, while two are running independently, setting the stage for a closely watched and intense race.
Notably, outgoing CAMPCO Chairman A. Kishore Kumar Kodgi-who has served on the board for the past twenty years, including five years as chairman-is not contesting this election.
However, he has appealed to members to support the Sahakar Bharati panel, expressing confidence that the group will win all six contested seats. He also acknowledged that the battle for these positions is not very serious, even though active campaigning is underway on all sides.
With 13 seats already secured unopposed and a tight contest for the remaining six, the election outcome will play a crucial role in shaping CAMPCO’s leadership for the next five years.
