After delighting IFFCO employees with festive rewards, cooperative leader Dileep Sanghani has extended his generosity and reformist zeal to another major institution he heads-the National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI).
In a significant Diwali week development, Sanghani ensured a Rs 15-crore payment from IFFCO to NCUI for lease of a floor of NCUI Hostel and approved promotions for four NCUI employees, while promising to implement the long-pending Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) process soon.
Soon after presiding over IFFCO’s Board meeting, Sanghani attended the Diwali Mela organized by NCUI Haat. There, he took a series of impactful administrative and financial decisions aimed at strengthening NCUI and uplifting its workforce.
Among the key announcements was IFFCO’s lease of an entire floor in NCUI’s newly constructed hostel, for which a cheque of Rs 15 crore was signed. The move is seen as a strategic step to alleviate NCUI’s fund constraints, especially at a time when support from the Ministry of Cooperation has waned.
The new hostel, a seven-storey structure nearing completion, will feature large halls, dormitories, and approximately sixteen rooms on each floor. Sources revealed that NCCF may also take a floor on lease, collectively ensuring a steady income stream for NCUI. This infusion of funds comes as a lifeline for the apex body, which has been struggling with limited financial inflows.
Meanwhile, Sanghani also addressed longstanding human resource issues by announcing the promotion of four employees-Abhay Kumar Singh, Neetu Lamba, Amita Kumari, and Durga Prasad-as an initial step toward broader implementation of the DPC mechanism.
Around 28 staff members are expected to benefit once the DPC is fully operational. The promotion decisions were finalized under the supervision of NCUI Chief Executive Sudhir Singh, who chaired the committee.
Speaking to Indian Cooperative, Sanghani reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring timely promotions and employee welfare, stating that “all those whose promotions are due will be considered without delay.” He also emphasized that the synergy between IFFCO and NCUI would continue to generate mutual benefits for both institutions.
The Rs 15-crore lease deal not only strengthens NCUI’s financial position but also provides IFFCO with better accommodation facilities for its visiting Board members and delegates. Sanghani noted that IFFCO previously had access to only two rooms in the old NCUI hostel, which caused logistical inconvenience during meetings and events. The new arrangement will offer substantial relief, ensuring comfort and continuity.
With these back-to-back decisions, Dileep Sanghani has once again demonstrated his hands-on leadership style, using strategic cooperation between apex bodies to deliver tangible results for employees and institutions alike.
