Senior BJP leader and former President of the National Fishermen Co-operative Association, New Delhi, Prakash Lonare, met Union Minister Nitin Gadkari at his Nagpur residence recently. The goodwill meeting focused on issues concerning the Vidarbha Divisional Fishermen Co-operative Association, Nagpur.
Discussions included seeking intervention from the Union Forest and Environment Ministry to allow fishing activities in certain bigar protected forest areas of Maharashtra.
The meeting also touched upon strengthening the cooperative structure for fishermen in the Vidarbha region.
Vidarbha Divisional Fishermen Co-operative Association Directors Dashrath Prasad Kevt, Sukhdev Meshram, and Chandrasekhar Kamthe were also present during the deliberations.
