The apex body of Urban Cooperative Banks (UCBs)-NAFCUB, led by its Chairman Laxmi Dass, met Ashish Kumar Bhutani, Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, on Wednesday at Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan to deliberate on preparations for the upcoming International Conference of the Urban Cooperative Credit Sector- “COOPKUMBH 2025.”
The mega event is scheduled to be held on 8–9 November 2025 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, coinciding with the celebration of the International Cooperative Year 2025.
The meeting was attended by several eminent cooperative leaders, including NUCFDC President Jyotindra Mehta, O.P. Sharma, Milind Kale, along with other distinguished dignitaries. Detailed discussions were held on programme structure, thematic sessions, and the participation of national and international cooperative institutions.
“COOPKUMBH 2025” is expected to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in the august presence of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah and other dignitaries.
The event will serve as a historic platform to showcase the strength and potential of the urban cooperative credit sector in fostering financial inclusion, rural empowerment, and socio-economic development.
