The “Tribhuvan” Sahkari University (TSU) has partnered with the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, to strengthen the implementation of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, which supports traditional artisans and craftspeople.

The agreement was formalized at the ‘PM Vishwakarma and SC-ST Hub Maha Sammelan 2025’ in Bodhgaya, Bihar, where it was signed by Prof. Saswata Biswas, Director, IRMA, TSU.

Under the collaboration, TSU will serve as an academic and institutional partner, working to expand the scheme’s reach and impact at the grassroots level.

The partnership will focus on joint research, capacity-building, and training initiatives designed to improve artisans’ skills, competitiveness, and market readiness. Registered artisans will be provided with structured training programs to adopt advanced techniques, strengthen business practices, and create sustainable market linkages.

The initiative also seeks to connect artisans with buyers, cooperatives, institutions, and digital platforms, ensuring greater visibility for their products and enhancing income opportunities.

By leveraging academic expertise and government support, the collaboration is expected to provide long-term benefits to artisan communities across India, thereby advancing the objectives of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme in preserving and promoting traditional skills.
