Divya Chandak, from the 45th batch of the Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management (PGDM-RM) at the Tribhuvan Sahakari University, formally known as Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA), has won the prestigious Case Study Competition organized by ESAF Foundation’s Bharat Centre of Excellence for Collective Enterprises (BCECE) in collaboration with VAMNICOM, Pune.

The contest drew participation from more than 1,168 students nationwide.

In the initial round, Divya carried out her field study with the Jhanjhakedi Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO) in Berchha village of Ujjain district, Madhya Pradesh.

Her case explored silage production as a climate-resilient solution to fodder shortages and livestock productivity challenges. The study underscored the role of collective action through FPOs in enabling sustainable fodder management, improving farmer incomes, and building resilience against climate variability.

In the final round, Divya impressed the jury by positioning silage not only as a tool for fodder security but also as a pathway to a circular economy-based climate adaptation model. Her innovative perspective and impactful presentation secured her the top position.

As part of the recognition, her case study will be featured in a joint publication highlighting the best works from the competition.
