On the sidelines of the National Cooperative Conference, the Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Agriculture and Rural Development Bank hosted the 180th Board Meeting of the National Federation of Agriculture and Rural Development Banks (NAFCARD) at Hotel Peterhof, Shimla, on Saturday.
The meeting brought together chairman of ARDBs from across the country, alongside senior cooperative leaders and policymakers. The discussions centered on strengthening the role of LDBs in rural credit, promoting digitization, ensuring financial stability, and aligning cooperative initiatives with national development priorities.
In his keynote address, NAFCARD Chairman Dollar V. Kotecha underlined the critical role of cooperatives in realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a self-reliant and developed India (Viksit Bharat 2047).
He stressed that empowering farmers through innovative credit structures and modern cooperative frameworks is essential for sustainable rural growth.
Delegates also reviewed progress on technology adoption and farmer-centric programs while exchanging experiences to shape future policies.
