The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has cleared the appointment of Rajamurugan Muthukalathi, IPS (1996 batch), as the Managing Director of the Tribal Co-Operative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED), under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
He will serve in this capacity from the date of assumption of charge until his superannuation on 30 November 2029, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
For this appointment, the post has been temporarily downgraded to the level of Joint Secretary.
An accomplished police officer from the Manipur cadre, Muthukalathi brings over 25 years of administrative and policing experience.
He has held key posts in Tripura, including Superintendent of Police in multiple districts, Principal of the Police Training College (now KTDS Police Training Academy), and Additional Director General of Police (Training & Administration).
He also completed an extended central deputation before returning to Tripura in 2022.
