While chairing an important meeting of the District Cooperative Development Committee and the District Implementation and Monitoring Committee, District Magistrate Swati S. Bhadauria emphasized that cooperative societies must serve the collective interests of their members rather than benefit a single individual.
She directed officials to remove inactive societies and made it clear that loan recovery must be undertaken by cooperative society secretaries instead of depending on the revenue department.
The DM cautioned that merely issuing recovery certificates would not absolve officers of their responsibility. She further warned that societies showing poor recovery performance after September 30 would face strict action.
Senior officials from the cooperative department, NABARD, fisheries, agriculture, and the district cooperative bank were present.
