The Institute of Cooperative Management (ICM), Madurai, commenced a three-day Short Duration Course (SDC) on “Computerisation of PACS” on Monday, aimed at enhancing the digital capabilities of the cooperative sector.

The training is designed for Cooperative Sub-Registrars (CSRs), Senior Inspectors (SIs), and Junior Inspectors (JIs) of the Cooperative Department.

The programme is being conducted under the guidance of K. Sathia Kumar Sam Michael, Director and Course Coordinator. During the inaugural session, Smt. G. Jeyanthi, Lecturer, welcomed the participants and emphasised the importance of digital transformation in cooperatives.

She underlined the key objectives of the National Cooperative Policy 2025, which focuses on empowering cooperatives through technology, youth involvement, and improved access to finance and markets.

Dr. V. Alagupandian, Lecturer, presented an overview of the training module, outlining the course structure and expected learning outcomes. He explained how the digitalisation of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) will contribute to transparency, efficiency, and better governance in rural credit systems.
