In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah said, “The Central Government has approved Rs 500.00 crore as a one-time capital grant in the form of a corpus fund for creating additional infrastructure of the Tribhuvan Sahakari university. The development of infrastructure is expected to be completed within a period of three years.”

The foundation stone of the university was laid at Anand, at the main campus site, which will be developed on 125 acres of land belonging to the Water and Land Management Institute (WALMI), provided free of cost by the Government of Gujarat on lease for 50 years.

The university has already introduced three programs and is likely to introduce another 50 programs (Degree, Diploma, and Certificate).

Through its high-quality and standardized capacity-building programs and practice-oriented research, including consultancy services to Central/State Governments and cooperative societies, the university aims to play a pivotal role in addressing the need for trained professionals in the cooperative sector.

It will enhance transparency, foster innovation, provide technical education across diverse domains, and thereby strengthen the cooperative movement as a whole.
