Dr. Ashish Kumar Bhutani, Secretary of the Ministry of Cooperation, chaired a high-level review meeting in New Delhi to evaluate the progress and strategies for setting up new cooperative societies across the country.

The focus was on the formation of Multi-Purpose Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (M-PACS), as well as cooperatives in the dairy and fisheries sectors.

The meeting aimed to ensure better coordination among implementing agencies to accelerate cooperative expansion.

Also present were Siddharth Jain, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, and senior officials from the Ministry. Key stakeholders such as NABARD, NDDB, and NFDB participated, contributing insights on financial, dairy, and fisheries development.

The meeting reinforced the government’s commitment to expanding the cooperative network, strengthening rural economies, and improving livelihoods through grassroots cooperative structures.
