During the International Year of Cooperatives (IYC-2025) committee meeting held at Vidhan Bhavan, Mumbai on Monday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, MAFCOCS Chairman Kaka Koyate presented a roadmap of major initiatives to strengthen the cooperative movement in Maharashtra.
Koyate announced the launch of an ambitious “Cooperative Flag March” from Ahmedpur (the home village of the state Cooperation Minister) to Nagpur (the CM’s residence), aimed at spreading cooperative awareness across the state. He also highlighted a state-level sports competition to be held in Buldhana for officials and staff of cooperative credit societies.
He informed the committee about the successful launch of the International Cooperative Conference in Shirdi and the state-wide “Sahkar Dindi.”
Koyate also proposed legal reforms in cooperative credit laws and requested representation of Federation officials in government policy committees. He called for support in implementing a CIBIL-like cross-verification system for cooperatives.
A new digital initiative, “Sahkar Basket,” modeled on Amazon and Flipkart, was introduced. He also announced a diploma course for cooperative officials in collaboration with YCMOU, Nashik.
