StCbs & DCCBs appoint 221 Cooperative Interns
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Out of the proposed 385 ‘Cooperative Interns’ to be appointed across all State Cooperative Banks (StCBs) and District Central Cooperative Banks (DCCBs), 221 interns have already been selected as part of the Ministry of Cooperation’s initiative to strengthen the cooperative banking ecosystem.

States such as Arunachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Karnataka, and others have been urged to expedite the remaining hiring process to ensure full implementation of the scheme at the earliest.

The objective of appointing Cooperative Interns is to enhance the operational and digital capabilities of cooperative banks and promote professional skills at the grassroots level.

These interns will serve as a critical support system for day-to-day operations, particularly assisting Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) with challenges related to computerization, business planning, project preparation, financing, and statutory approvals.

It may be recalled that the Ministry had permitted each StCB and DCCB to appoint one Cooperative Intern. These interns will act as a bridge between the banking system and local cooperative societies, ensuring smooth operations and better service delivery.
