Former BJP President from Jhansi Jamunadas Kushwaha, has been elected as the Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Upbhokta Sahakari Sangh, the apex body for consumer cooperatives in the state. The election took place on Thursday in Lucknow and saw active participation from cooperative representatives across Uttar Pradesh.
Ashok Kumar Dwivedi was elected as the Vice-Chairman, signaling a fresh leadership at the helm of this vital cooperative institution.
The newly elected board of directors includes Ramashankar Shukla, Krishna Kant Sharma, Dilip Chaturvedi, Bhudev Singh, Ganesh Jatav, Vimlesh Kumar, Namrata Chaurasia, Surendra Singh, Saroj Kumari, Subhash Singh, Monoj Krishna Gupta, and Vinod Kumar Mishra.
Additionally, Shyam Mohan Gupta has been appointed as the government nominee on the board.
Established in 1965 under the Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Societies Act, the federation operates statewide to provide quality consumer goods at affordable prices through a network of rural and urban cooperatives.
It also acts as the nodal agency for procurement under MSP and MIS schemes and manages fertilizer sales, transport, and LPG distribution. The federation plays a key role in policy implementation, including FPO formation under the Atmanirbhar Krishak Yojana, ensuring support to farmers and consumers alike.
