Four individuals from Delhi, Mumbai, Rajasthan, and UP were arrested for defrauding the Himachal Pradesh State Co-operative Bank of Rs 11.55 crore through cybercrime.
According to police, the accused hacked the bank’s mobile app, Himpesa, and siphoned funds via NEFT and RTGS from a customer’s account at the Halti branch in Chamba.
The money was routed through 20 accounts. The fraud, committed on May 11–12, was detected on May 14. Investigations are ongoing, with key leads emerging from the suspects in custody.
