The Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government is set to modernize 51 cooperative banks, including the Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Bank Ltd and 50 district cooperative banks, by deploying advanced cybersecurity and cloud-based core banking systems (CBS).
Tech giants TCS and Wipro will support the project, enhancing data protection, server management, and cyber resilience. NABARD will provide technical training, monitoring, and financial aid, media reports say.
A Rs 10 crore budget has been allocated for FY 2025–26 to implement secure digital infrastructure, train staff, and conduct cyber awareness campaigns. Public outreach through bank branches, gram panchayats, and digital media will educate customers about cyber fraud prevention.
