A high-level delegation from Ethiopia, led by Mr. Berhanu Dufera of the Ethiopian Cooperative Commission and accompanied by World Bank officials, visited the National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) to study India’s cooperative models and institutional frameworks.
Mrs. Savitri Singh, Deputy Chief Executive, welcomed the group and highlighted NCUI’s initiatives in cooperative education and capacity-building.
Dr. Sudhir Mahajan, Chief Executive, spoke on India’s cooperative evolution and NCUI’s pivotal role in inclusive development.
The visit included discussions on Ethiopia’s Home-Grown Economic Reform Agenda (HGERA) and future cooperation. Mr. Ritesh Dey, Executive Director, detailed NCUI’s partnership with the Ministry of Cooperation.
Supported by the World Bank’s PASA initiative, the visit underscored South-South collaboration in advancing global cooperative development.
