As part of the International Year of Cooperatives 2025, the Cooperative Department, LAHDC-Leh, organized an awareness camp and workshop in Hanley. SDM Nyoma, Tushar Anand (IAS), was the chief guest.
Dr. Mohd Abass, Deputy Registrar, emphasized the UN-declared year’s significance and shared details of planned activities launched by UT Ladakh’s Chief Secretary.
He highlighted cooperatives’ role in economic growth, especially in marketing pashmina, milk, sea buckthorn, and apricots.
Infrastructure updates included completed retail outlets at Khaldo and Punguk. SDM Anand urged public participation in cooperative schemes. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Nawang Tsering.
