Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has directed the Finance Department to draft a Rs 472 crore revival plan for three struggling cooperative sugar factories—Krishna in Belagavi (Rs 192 crore), Nandi in Babaleshwar (Rs 150 crore), and Bhimashankar in Vijayapura (Rs 130 crore).
The funds will address pending dues to farmers, transport costs, and the setup of power infrastructure. Krishna and Nandi factories also plan cogeneration plants of 27 MW and 37 MW, respectively.
Ministers M.B. Patil, Shivanand S. Patil, and H.K. Patil attended the meeting focused on financial and operational revival strategies.
