In a vibrant celebration of the International Year of Cooperatives 2025, the Gangtok District Office of the Department of Cooperation, Government of Sikkim, organized a spirited cycling event on Sunday. The event aimed to foster community wellness, environmental awareness, and the core values of cooperation.

The rally was flagged off from the District Office in Sichey by Madam Gloria Namchu, Secretary, Department of Cooperation, in the esteemed presence of PRCS Smt. Jabi Thapa and SICUN Chairman Mangal Jit Rai. Cyclists embarked on an inspiring journey from Sichey to Ganesh Tok, proudly donning custom jerseys featuring the IYC 2025 logo.

Participants of all ages joined the ride, with the youngest being just 12 years old, embodying the message that the cooperative spirit transcends generations. Upon completion of the event, certificates were awarded by the Additional Registrar and Senior AO of Gangtok to acknowledge the enthusiasm and commitment of each rider.

The event was also attended by ARCS, CI, ACI, and other dignitaries, adding prestige to the occasion. More than just a sporting event, the initiative promoted unity, healthy living, and sustainability—echoing the global cooperative movement’s mission in this special year of celebration.
