Expanding the role of primary agriculture cooperative societies (PACS) and large area multipurpose cooperative societies (LAMPS), four PACS in Odisha have opened Jan Aushadhi Kendras under the Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana, reports the New Indian Express.
Of the 150 PACS identified, 100 more are in the pipeline. One PACS in Sundargarh has also begun fuel distribution, with others awaiting licenses.
Additionally, 701 PACS have been enabled as Common Service Centres (CSCs) to deliver e-governance services, while 1,600 more are being transformed. PACS activities are diversifying into dairy, millet procurement, fisheries, and Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samriddhi Kendras (PMKSK).
