The Sikkim State Cooperative Union (SICUN) held a Special Board Meeting at its Board Room in Assam Lingzey, chaired by Chairman Mangal Jit Rai. The session saw the presence of Vice Chairman P.P. Sharma and Board Members H.B. Gurung, Hemant Dahal, Anil Kr. Nepal, Ms. Sanu Bhutia, Smt. Kalpana Gurung, Chodup Lepcha, and Ms. Tshering Doma Bhutia.
Also in attendance were senior officials from key cooperative bodies and departments, including the Information and Public Relations Department, Cooperation Department, Finance Department, SISCO, Sikkim Milk Union, and SIMFED.
The primary agenda was the proposed allotment of specific SICUN facilities—namely the Class II Quarter, Director’s Quarter, and the Ground Floor of the Administrative Building—to the Sikkim National Law University (SNLU) on a five-year rental basis. Board members actively contributed their perspectives, expressing collective support for the initiative, which aligns with SICUN’s commitment to supporting higher education in the state.
The meeting concluded with a strong consensus on leveraging SICUN infrastructure to facilitate academic growth in Sikkim.
