The Odisha government has appointed retired IAS officer Srikant Prusty as the new Commissioner of the State Co-operative Election Commission, aiming to boost cooperative governance.
A 2003 batch IAS officer and IIT Kharagpur alumnus, Prusty retired recently after serving in key roles, including Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Northern Division) and Special Secretary in the Panchayati Raj and Handloom, Textiles & Handicrafts Departments.
He was instrumental in formulating the Odisha Textile & Apparel Policy 2022. With experience in education, horticulture, and tribal development, Prusty brings valuable expertise to the Commission amid rising focus on cooperatives in the state’s growth plans.
