Veteran Cooperator Patil appointed Maha Co-op Minister

Veteran cooperator and senior NCP leader Babasaheb Mohanrao Patil has been appointed as Maharashtra’s Cooperation Minister. Known for his unwavering commitment to the cooperative sector, Patil’s appointment is expected to bring transformative changes to the state’s rural economy.

Representing the Ahmadpur constituency, Patil has a long and illustrious career in cooperative leadership.

He served as the President and Vice-President of the Latur District Cooperative Bank and is currently a board member of the bank. Additionally, he is the Director of Mahesh Urban Bank, Ahmedpur, and the President of Mahesh Nagri Patsanstha, Shirur. Patil has also held the prestigious position of Chairman of the Maharashtra State Cooperative Federation, cementing his reputation as a stalwart in the sector.

Hailing from Ahmedpur in Latur district, Patil comes from a farming family. His father, Mohanrao Kishanrao Patil, was a farmer, and Patil himself pursued his education with dedication, earning a B.A. degree in 2000 from Swami Vivekanand College, Shirur Tajband, Ahmedpur, affiliated with Swami Ramanand Tirth Marathwada University, Nanded.

Patil’s extensive experience and deep understanding of cooperative institutions are expected to strengthen Maharashtra’s cooperative framework, empowering farmers and rural communities across the state.
