Sahakar Bharati, a leading organization in India’s cooperative movement, is all set to host its 8th National Convention from December 6 to 8, 2024, in the historic city of Amritsar, Punjab.
The event is expected to bring together over 3,000 cooperative workers and representatives from across the nation. The convention will be a significant occasion for discussing Sahakar Bharati’s contributions to the cooperative sector, its organizational growth, and to outline its future strategy.
Top leaders from the cooperative body, including National General Secretary Uday Joshi and North Zone Organizational Head Shankar Dutt Tiwari, have issued video invitations encouraging members to attend. Amritsar, known for its religious, political, and spiritual importance, was chosen as the venue to highlight the significance of the cooperative movement in India’s development.
The convention will begin on December 6, with a special inaugural address by Dattatreya Hosabale, the Sarkaryavah (General Secretary) of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on 7th December.
The concluding session on December 8 will feature speeches from notable dignitaries, including Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, and Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. Their participation underscores the vital role of the cooperative sector in nation-building.
One of the key highlights of the convention will be the announcement of new office bearers, as well as discussions on Sahakar Bharati’s expansion and its plans for the next three years. The convention also follows the 7th National Convention held in Lucknow in 2021, which saw prominent figures like BJP leaders Amit Shah and Yogi Adityanath addressing the delegates.
The event will be a representative gathering, with attendance limited to invitees, including members of the National Executive, provincial executives, and district representatives. A delegate fee of Rs 300 will apply, and attendees must be officially listed by the central office by November 10.
