In a significant move towards promoting sustainable agricultural practices and boosting rural development, the National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) and the Council for Agricultural and Rural Development (CARD) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The agreement, signed in the presence of key representatives from both organizations, aims to leverage cooperative models to enhance farmers’ incomes and promote rural welfare.

Present at the signing ceremony were Dr. Sudhir Mahajan, Chief Executive of NCUI, Shri Ritesh Dey, Executive Director of NCRC & CEAS, Dr. Sagar Wadkar, Adviser at NCUI, and Mrs. Rajani Sharma, Assistant Director of NCUI. CARD was represented by Ms. Tripti Khanna, Trustee and Member, along with her team.

This partnership is set to focus on the integration of Industry 4.0 technologies within cooperatives, while also working on the promotion of cooperatives in diverse sectors such as renewable energy, sports, and welfare.

Through this collaboration, both NCUI and CARD aim to empower farmers, drive innovation in agriculture, and enhance rural livelihoods, further contributing to economic sustainability.

By utilizing the potential of cooperatives, this initiative is expected to create a lasting impact on the agricultural sector, with a central goal of improving farmers’ income and rural prosperity.
