IFFCO begins Shrilal Shukla Young Literary Award this year, won by Renu Yadav

The Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO), a leading cooperative organization in the fertilizer sector, has announced the recipients of the prestigious 2024 Shrilal Shukla Memorial IFFCO Literary Award.

Noted storyteller Shri Chandrakishore Jaiswal has been selected for the Shrilal Shukla Memorial IFCO Literary Award, while the first-ever Shrilal Shukla Memorial IFFCO Young Literary Award has been awarded to Ms. Renu Yadav.

The selection committee, chaired by veteran writer Shri Asghar Wajahat, included distinguished members such as Dr. Anamika, Shri Priyadarshan, Shri Yatindra Mishra, Shri Utkarsh Shukla, and Dr. Nalin Vikas.

Shri Chandrakishore Jaiswal was born on February 15, 1940, in Bihariganj, Madhepura district, Bihar. He earned a master’s degree in Economics from Patna University and later retired as a professor from Bhagalpur College of Engineering.

Some of his notable works include novels such as “Gawah Gairhazir,” “Jeebach Ka Beta Budh,” “Sheershak,” and “Dah,” as well as short stories and plays like “Main Nahin Makhan Khayo” and “Rang-Bhang.”

Shri Jaiswal has been honoured with several awards, including the Ramvriksha Benipuri Award, Banarasi Prasad Bhojpuri Award, Anand Sagar Kathakram Award, and Bihar Government’s Jananayak Karpoori Thakur Award.

His novel “Gawah Gairhazir” was adapted into the acclaimed film “Rui Ka Bojh,” which was featured in the National Film Festival Panorama (1998).

The recipient of IFFCO Young Literary Award, Ms. Renu Yadav was born on September 16, 1984, in Gorakhpur and holds an M.A., M.Phil., and Ph.D., and currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Indian Languages and Literature (Hindi) at Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida.

Ms Yadav’s major works include the critical book “Mahadevi Verma ke Kavya Mein Vedna Ka Manovisleshan” and the poetry collection “Main Mukt Hoon.”

Renu has published numerous stories, poems, and research articles, focusing on women’s discourse, in various journals and magazines. She has also received the “Srijan Shri” Award and the “Virangana Savitribai Phule National Fellowship Award” from the Indian Dalit Literary Academy, Delhi.

The Shrilal Shukla Memorial IFCO Literary Award, initiated in 2011, honours Hindi authors whose works predominantly depict rural and agricultural life. Previous recipients include Vidyasagar Nautiyal, Shekhar Joshi, Sanjeev, Mithileshwar, and others. The award consists of a symbolic memento, a citation, and a check for INR 11 lakh.

Beginning this year, the Shrilal Shukla Memorial IFCO Young Literary Award will include a symbolic memento, a citation, and a check for INR 2.5 lakh. Shri Chandrakishore Jaiswal and Ms. Renu Yadav will receive their awards on September 30, 2024, at a ceremony in New Delhi.

    Goes on to prove, in these times of negative news, IFFCO continues to find the classic work’s in art culture and literature.
    A great organization always lead from the front in every decision it makes.
    My only request would be to make translation available to other languages.
